So, who's your ESD educator of the Decade?

This question has been posed by EfS Scotland which says:

November 2014 marks the end of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development which aimed to ‘integrate the principles, values and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning’.

To celebrate the achievements of Scotland’s educators, SQA [1] has created a one-off Star Award for individuals and centres that have contributed to progress on the aims of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development and the Scottish Government’s associated Action Plans.

Nominations are open to schools, colleges and training providers, involved in the delivery of SQA qualifications, for this SQA Star Award – Sustainable Development Educator of the Decade.

What a pity the list of institutions that can apply is so restricted as surely the Scottish government itself is well qualified for the award.  After all, the way it has allowed turbines and pylons to be planted across the Highlands in pursuit of its green future is an education in itself.

Note

[1SQA is the Scottish Qualifications Authority, and you can see details of all their awards here.
