I spend more time than ever in London these days experiencing the joys and thrills of grandparenting. No matter how fulfilling, however, it always leads to a bout of SILS – Spending Time In London Syndrome.
This is a deep psychological craving for fresh air (slightly tinged with an earthy aroma, with hints of manure and leaf litter overtones), fields with cows in, open skies and litter-free streets. It usually takes a day or two to recover.
