Thanks to the SDRN for pointing out that Carbon Brief has produced an interactive online tracker that captures information from UK party manifestos on energy and climate change. This allows us to see comparisons of energy and climate change policy, including key extracts from the manifestos with commentary and links to further information. It might be useful to keep this list somewhere handy.
As SDRN notes, despite a joint climate pledge from the leaders of the three largest parties which promised to work towards a legally-binding global climate deal, to agree new UK emissions-cutting goals, and to phase out unabated coal-fired power, climate change has scarcely featured in the campaign.
This is one of the dispiriting aspects of the election that I've already referred to.
