It's Thursday morning in San Diego. The sun has risen over Downtown, and another warm day looms. Just the sort of day to spend in air conditioned frigidity indoors – whilst all the time saying how important it is to get outside. The personal sacrifices we make for the good of the planet!
We had an overnight task to produce a GEEP tagline in fewer than 20 words. Here are my 5 offerings (so far) which have the merit of increasing brevity:
- Advancing environmental literacy for a just and sustainable future through the power of education
- Using the power of education to advance environmental literacy for a just and sustainable future
- Educating for environmental literacy and a sustainable future for all
- Environmental education for a sustainable future
- Environmental learning means a sustainable future
But will I win the prize?
Love the last bit. Gotta get the branding right. You should chat sometime with URochester's Randy Curren about this. I think he'd argue that we should call it: education. He's developed this quite a bit since this one: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.2048-416X.2009.tb00140.x/abstract
