A position has become available for a Project Officer to co-ordinate and support the University’s involved in the UK KTEQUAL consortium. This prestigious network involves participation from the University’s of Bath, Edinburgh, Sheffield Hallam, Cambridge, Reading, Loughborough, and Salford.

EQUAL (www.equal.ac.uk) was introduced by EPSRC in 1997 to stimulate a multi disciplinary, collaborative, user-engaged approach to ageing research.  The outputs of the EQUAL programme and subsequent SPARC network (www.SPARC.ac.uk)  and cross council New Dynamics of Ageing initiative (www.nda.ac.uk) have been significant and the mission of the KTEQUAL consortium it to take forward and further develop and extend this work thereby enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing of older and disabled people.

The post will involve organising meetings, publicity of the project and communication/dissemination of the Consortium’s work. The applicant will need excellent communication and event management skills - 25% of the role will be providing general project support to the University's Research Development and Support Office.

Proven experience of co-ordinating multidisciplinary projects or events in addition to strong administrative and interpersonal skills are essential.

The post will entail travel within the UK and may involve overnight stays.
