LITEbox is delighted to be welcoming William Gaffney, and his colleague Dave Hannan, from Panopto to the University on Thursday 25 May 2017. William and Dave will be running a series of drop-in sessions in 8 West 1.28 designed to increase understanding of the use and capability of Panopto Re:View Lecture Recording Software.
There will be four sessions on the day, covering the key features of Panopto Lecture Recording Software, and aims to be inclusive of all current users, whether experienced with Lecture Recording, or just starting to discover the possibilities. This event will give some structured understanding of functionality, and offers an excellent opportunity to ask any questions that you may have come across while using this software. Following recipient feedback, the schedule of events has changed slightly, and will include the following:
10:00-10:45 - Basic Recording, Editing and Publishing Features: This session will give an overview of how to use the system to record your own content, edit the recordings, and share with others, including basic use of the Re:View portal.
11:00-11:45 - Advanced Editing and Publishing Features: This session follows on nicely from the Basic Recording and Editing session, offering attendees an opportunity to discover how to add their own captions, import addition content i.e. slides/videos, automatically transcribe recordings and export to third party services such as Vimeo and YouTube.
12:00-12:45 - Break - No session
13:00-13:45 - Using Panopto to Capture Student Work: This session covers the key features of Panopto for student usage, including methods of creating and recording to assignment folders, note taking and social features including organisation, rating and discussion of recordings.
14:00-14:45 - New/Extended Functionality (Including MCQs): This session will cover some of the new and extended functionality of Panopto, including personal folders and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) quizzes. This will build nicely on from a recent LITEbox hot topic of MCQs, and the possible incorporation into Panopto. It will consider the implementation and embedding of these questions into recordings, and how they can be used to facilitate unofficial assessment in the comprehension of material.
The 15 minutes between each session will be used for the transition of people between sessions, and it may be possible that a topic runs overtime slightly.
