About us

Evolutionary biology underpins the whole of the Life Sciences. Through the centre, we aim to understand how and why species change over time. We want to find new technological and clinical research applications to tackle real-life challenges, like tracking bacterial disease epidemics in real time and improving agriculturally important animals and plants.

We also aim to provide world-leading public communication of evolutionary science. We work directly with schools to improve evolution teaching and actively engage in the public debate on evolutionary issues.

This blog aims to demonstrate research and outreach activities in the Milner Centre for Evolution.
