Polden development update

Posted in: Uncategorized

Welcome to the tenth monthly update with news to keep you informed on the new Polden Student Accommodation project.

October has been yet another very busy month, with the main frame to the block closest to the West Car Park entrance complete and the fit-out underway.

The concrete frames to the remaining blocks continue to progress at pace with most of the concrete frame works planned to be complete by Christmas.  The construction team continue to liaise with all relevant university departments on all deliveries expected on the campus to minimise disruption as much as possible.

The appearance of the first and second buildings is now changing on a daily basis; with the weather defence board being fixed and widows now being installed also.

Internally many of the bedrooms in the first block have been formed with the bathroom pods now in position. The mechanical and electrical installation is also now underway.

The forthcoming month will be busier still, with construction of the second concrete frame nearing completion and the main external façade works to enclose the structure commencing.  This will further enable the team to progress with the internal fit-out trades.

We appreciate all your patience and understanding whilst the construction work is ongoing, with contractors working closely with the University Estates, AHS, and Security teams to minimise disruption as much as possible.
