Polden development update - July 2018

Posted in: Uncategorized

The stone cladding is progressing rapidly, with most progress being made to the rear of the building to allow our landscaping works to progress.

We are busy laying our kerbstones and edgings, ahead of the block paving works to the rear of the building which will complete the finished landscaping. At the front of the building, we have applied the first layer of tarmac to Quarry Road.

Inside the building, the installation of the final pieces of bedroom furniture is currently taking place, with floors laid and joinery installed to the majority of our bedrooms.  Works are now focussing on completing staircases and communal areas, with a big drive towards the commissioning of the building to ensure all of the mechanical and electrical services work correctly.

Around the perimter of the building, there will be some disruption over the coming months as the landscaping works continue, to ensure that Polden ties in with the rest of campus.

We will continue to work closely with the University Estates, AHS, and Security teams to minimise this disruption as much as possible as our project continues.
