Polden development update

Welcome to the 14th monthly update with news to keep you informed on the new Polden Student Accommodation project.

February has seen many changes on the project, as work on both the outside and the inside of the building progresses.

 

You may have noticed that one of our two tower cranes has now been removed, this was a key milestone for the project and the removal of the second crane at the end of March / early April will signify the completion of all major structural works.

Our stone cladding panels have been delivered to site and fitting has now started. This, along with more windows having been installed, means the façade of the building is taking shape and will soon start to resemble the finished article.

Inside the building, good progress is being made with joinery, floor laying and decorating work taking place. Three out of the building’s four lifts are also being installed.

Outside the building, we are installing pipes and wires in the ground at the rear of the building, to link the building’s services together.

We will continue to work closely with the contractors and different areas of the University to minimise any disruption as the project continues.
