Day trip to either Oxford or Blenheim Palace. Get off the coach in Oxford city centre and spend the day exploring the city, the colleges and/or the Ashmolean museum. Alternatively stay on for a day at Blenheim Palace. Home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a true masterpiece of 18th Century Baroque architecture. Once there the day is yours to do as you please. Join a tour of the House including the imposing Great Hall and beautifully intricate State Rooms, visit the Churchill Exhibitions, stroll round the magnificent formal gardens, explore the pleasure gardens complete with miniature train, maze and tropical butterfly farm. There shall also be a medieval event with jousting and falconry displays on this date.
Departing 8.30 am from campus; returning from Blenheim at 4.30 pm and Oxford at 5 pm.
Cost £12 for members and guests for both destinations. Cost of entrance to the Blenheim Palace NOT included but it may be possible to purchase group tickets at a reduced rate if enough people are interested.
