Come along to Engage: Public Engagement in Practice

Posted in: Engage Awards

All are welcome at the annual Engage: Public Engagement in Practice event on Wednesday 9 May, 1 – 4pm, in the Chancellors’ Building.

Hosted by Professor Jonathan Knight (Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)) and overseen by the University’s Public Engagement Unit, Engage recognises and celebrates the diverse range of engaged research taking place across the University.

Attendees will get a sneak preview of 42 entries we received for this year’s Images of Research competition, entries that showcase research from across 15 academic departments.

Alongside the chance to meet fellow researchers and a range of community representatives from local organisations that the University collaborates with, attendees can watch the live finals of this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Public Engagement with Research.

Award finalists who have demonstrated excellence in engaged research – have been challenged to engage us with their research and to talk about the benefits of engagement. The challenge is they have only six minutes to do so!

This years finalists are:

  • Dr Ventsislav Valev (Department of Physics)
  • Bethan Charles (Department of Chemistry, Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies)
  • Annaleise Depper (Department for Health)
  • Caroline Hughes (Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering)

Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.

If you would like to come along, please register at: go.bath.ac.uk/engage2018
