Train travel via Paddington over the Christmas period

Posted in: Public transport

As part of the ongoing improvement to the network, Great Western Railway will have some changes to their services over the holiday period. The biggest change is that London Paddington will be closed to all rail services from Saturday 24 December to Thursday 29 December.

This means that GWR rail services will be starting and finishing at Ealing Broadway, where customers can make a connection to the underground or take scheduled bus services into London.

GWR advises:

"Ealing Broadway does not have step-free access.  We are therefore recommending that customers on our Bristol and South Wales services, who are travelling with heavy luggage, children, or who find steps difficult to change at Reading and use services from there to London Waterloo.  This will mean a longer journey and we will be alerting customers to the changes well in advance so they can plan ahead."

Full details of the planned works can be found on the GWR website.
