Posted in: FRESH CDT, GW4, Water Security Alliance, WIRC @ Bath, WISE CDT

The WIRC water colloquia series returned on the 18th February 2021. This colloquium showcased the research of two early career colleagues. FRESH CDT student Franek Bydalek presented his research with talk titled, 'The role of constructed wetlands in tackling water pollution problems and the spread of antimicrobial resistance.' Then, WISE CDT student presented his research with a talk titled, 'Improving regional monthly rainfall forecasts using convolutional-neural networks.' Both talks were followed by stimulating and engaging Q&A sessions from the audience, which were moderated and facilitated by discussant Dr Tom Arnot.

Recordings of the talks can be found on the WIRC website. Franek's talk can be found here and Andy's talk can be found here.

Our next colloquium is on 11th March @ 1.15pm and features a talk by Prof Annemarie van Wezel of the University of Amsterdam. She will give a presentation titled 'Science to help reaching a toxic-free environment.' Full details and registration information are already on our website.
