School of Management Building Project Update - March 2020

Posted in: School of Management

Welcome to the monthly update on the School of Management building project, focused on keeping you up to speed on progress.

Reinforced concrete frame

Since the last monthly update the construction of the frame continues, with the completion of the level 2 slab to the west wing and reinforcement installed to the east wing. Core walls and columns are also being erected in both areas, which will house the faculty offices and circulation areas.

The team has also started the first section of level 3 in the knuckle of the building, which will form a future seminar room and behavioural lab.

In addition, we are removing the formwork moulds on level zero to reveal the concrete structure that will form the lecture theatres on this level.

Groundworks

The main groundworks are now well underway with work on the foundations that will support the pavilion steelwork, which will form the catering and study areas.

Basement

The internal waterproof membrane continues to be installed to the basement. This has been completed to the main lecture theatre before we move on to the newly accessible level zero areas.

As always the School of Management site continues to change on a daily basis and Bouygues continues to work closely with University of Bath to ensure minimal disruption during this period.
