School of Management Building Project Update - July 2021

Internally the team have been pushing on all floors. At basement level the team continue with the installation of the M&E services. Works to complete the drylining at the cores of these levels are underway. The main auditorium continues to progress with the completion of the final wall elevations. At level zero we have now commenced with the framing for the pavilion ceiling. Throughout the communal areas we are applying the walls finishes and within the catering pods now see commencement of high-level M&E installation. We have progressed in all of the lecture theatres at this level specifically with the low level M&E. Completion of the low level M&E has enabled the raised access floor to be installed through lecture theatres 6 and 8 with lecture theatre 7 in progress. In addition, we are also well underway with the installation of the framing for the auditorium seating to lecture theatres 3, 4 and 5.

On the upper levels, raised access floors have commenced to level three and are complete to all the comms rooms. Drylining continues to progress with level two, three and four released for low level M&E installation to begin. We are now pushing through first pass drylining at level one also. Within the atrium we now see the completion of the atrium balustrade to all levels. Subsequently we have installed the balustrade system to both atrium stairs 4 & 5 enabling the screed works to complete to these stairs.

Externally we have transformed the pavilion roof with the completion of the green roofing system. Subsequently at level one we have commenced with the installation roof finishes to the terrace areas. Around the external façades of the building the team are working through completing the final interface details with copings being install to roof level, soffit details being closed out and closing pieces to the facade’s junction being installed. Groundworks continue to the public realm areas with coordination of services. This is enabling water connections to be made imminently. We have completed almost 80% of the reduce dig and continue with the installation of kerbs throughout. The bin store to the north elevation has also now been completed. In addition, we have also commenced groundworks to the pavilion front which will see access given for the installation and connection of services.
