Fairtrade Fortnight

Posted in: Bars and eateries, Fairtrade

Each year we help Fairtrade Foundation to celebrate, support and promote their global trade initiatives through Fairtrade Fortnight.

This year Fairtrade Fortnight will take place from Monday 29 February to Sunday 13 March.

Over the course of two weeks, we'll be hosting special events and selling limited edition Fairtrade products across our bar and eateries.

This year the focus of the Fairtrade Fortnight is on breakfast, and on Monday 29 February customers will be able to start the day with Fairtrade chocolate brownies and banana loaf served in lime tree, Claverton Rooms and Wessex Restaurant from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Staff holding breakfast meetings in those venues on Monday 29 February will also get a free slice of Fairtrade cake if they order Fairtrade tea and coffee for the meeting in advance through hospitality@bath.ac.uk.

On Wednesday 9 March at 1.30pm we'll be hosting an afternoon of special events in The Edge.

Beginning at 1.30pm, we'll hear talks from Michael Gidney, the chief executive of the Fairtrade Foundation, and Ana Maria, a Nicaraguan Fairtrade producer. There will also be short films, presentations and a panel discussion .
