"After Cheddar Gorge the hills just kept coming"

What a pleasure it was hosting Ride Across Britain this weekend. An incredible and inspirational effort from all the participants.

Are there many better places to ride a bicycle in Britain? Bath and the South West boast some truly stunning scenery that provided quite the backdrop for the riders. One cyclist told us, "After Cheddar Gorge the hills just kept coming".

Those hills were a big challenge for the riders who pulled into the University on Sunday evening ready for a good night's rest. After propelling themselves over 100 miles from Devon, we were delighted to be able to guide them to their rooms in The Quads.

And as if that wasn't impressive enough, they were all up at dawn on Monday to carry on to Ludlow.

The Deloitte Ride Across Britain rounds off what has been a hugely successful summer for AHS, with the department bringing in over £1 million for the University through the thousands of guest accommodation bookings we have taken since mid-June.

So thank you to Ride Across Britain for staying with us and best of luck to all the riders on the rest of the journey to John O'Groats. We hope you have a fantastic trip, and we'll see you again next year.
