Join us for the TDF Sandpit

Posted in: Funding, learning and teaching, research engaged learning

The Teaching Development Fund (TDF) will once again hold its landmark sandpit event that brings together staff from across the University to develop and launch projects to support learning and teaching, and enhance the student experience.

The sandpit format has become increasingly popular within universities. It gives people time away from other distractions to work intensively on their chosen area. Our TDF sandpit this year will focus on research-engaged learning, and will provide an opportunity to bring together mixed disciplinary teams in a non-hierarchical environment, with an openness to innovation.

Participants will work together to conceive and plan their project over the course of one day, at the end of which participants will pitch their ideas to the TDF panel.

The sandpit will be held on  Wednesday 9 January 2019 on campus. You will need to be available that day.

If you would like to join us, please complete the Sandpit Application Form to be considered for the event. Please note that the deadline for applications is Friday 14 December 2018.

Full information about this year's TDF application process, which also includes a written application route, can be found here.

The Teaching Development Fund (TDF) is now in its 19th year. This year, £32,000 is available to support innovative ideas and projects that encourage staff and students to engage with the latest approaches to teaching and assessment, make the best use of campus resources, and meet the needs of future graduates in a rapidly changing society.
