Congratulations to our latest Bath Scheme Fellows

Posted in: Academic staff development

The Bath Scheme provides an accredited route to Fellowship for experienced teaching staff. Bath Scheme’s Director, Dr Rachael Carkett, manages the scheme and, with the support of the Departmental or Division Bath Scheme Champions, applicants are supported through the process.

Yvonne Moore said, “As a teacher (in a previous life!) I was trained to reflect on everything (what worked, what didn’t, how could it be improved next time) but this habit has been somewhat side-lined since moving into my role in Professional Services. However, by participating in the Bath Scheme I was given the opportunity to reflect on what I do, what impact (if any) I have and how I might approach work differently.  I found it a really helpful exercise, in particular the peer review element which was a chance to hear what my colleague thought of my approach to a project.”

Tim Ratcliffe said, “In the process of applying for the SFHEA award, I was able to stand back from my work and analyse the positive impact it has on my colleagues and ultimately the students. For staff directly involved in learning and teaching, taking time to think carefully about and explain why we do things is an extremely useful exercise.”
