Great ranking news^

We have some exciting news to share with you!

We’re delighted to have been named one of the top 150 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2024. We are now placed 148th, which means we are among the top 10% of universities worldwide, according to QS.

The ranking rates performance of institutions in areas such as research and discovery, employability and outcome, learning experience, global engagement and sustainability.

We are proud to have scored particularly highly for our reputation among employers for ‘providing the most job-ready graduates’.

This good news follows the University of Bath being named the Times and Sunday Times University of the Year 2023, and earlier this year we were also named as the 5th best university in the UK by the Complete University Guide 2024.

For more details, read the full story here.

We hope you will be able to pass this great news onto your counsellors and the students you work with.

Pre-sessional programmes^

Applications for our 5-week Pre-sessional English course, starting on 3 August 2023, are open until 6 July. The course focuses on developing students’ English language, academic skills and understanding of university life to prepare them for their studies at Bath. Full information about the course requirements, an introductory video, factsheet for agents, and student testimonials, are available on our webpages.

Meanwhile, we are looking forward to welcoming students from around the world to our 10-week Pre-sessional course, starting on 3 July. We have a full programme planned to develop their skills, welcome them to the University of Bath and introduce them to our World Heritage City.

Undergraduate Admissions Update^

We receive applications from a wide variety of students taking a mix of qualifications, some results we receive via the UCAS site such as A levels and IB however, many need to be provided directly to the university either by agents or individuals. Qualification results that we need from you are, HKDSE, Turkish Diploma, USA Advanced Placements, French Baccalaureate, and many other European qualifications, please help your students to provide these documents as soon as possible. Our preference would be that they are uploaded to the Bath Portal account or via email to admissions@bath.ac.uk.

We are coming to the end of the main UCAS cycle on the 30 June and then we will be entering into the ‘Clearing’ phase on 5 July. For all clearing vacancies we would recommend visiting the UCAS website to check for availability of courses. For any student wishing to be considered via clearing, we will require their results including any English qualification as we can only consider an ‘unconditional’ decision via this route. Please contact the university prior to any ‘clearing’ submission.

Please also ensure that for those requiring an English test this has been arranged by now as our timeline is to obtain the results by the 31 July

Should you need any support, help or information, please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Team on either admissions@bath.ac.uk or uginternationaladmissions@bath.ac.uk. We wil be happy to advise.

MSc Strategic Retailing

There are still places available on our new MSc in Strategic Retailing.  Watch the film to find out more.

Research from Dr Carl-Philip Ahlbom (Director of Studies for our MSc in Strategic Retailing) and Professor Jens Nordfalt (Co-director of the University’s Retail Lab) shows that in-store music makes supermarket shoppers spend more – but only on weekdays.

Their research shows consumer spending increases by more than 10 per cent when supermarkets play music, but not at the weekend. Read the full article to find out why this doesn’t have the same effect at weekends.

MSc Global Public Health and Policy

Learn about this course from our academics and students in our two videos. Meet our academics and hear from our students.
