Since our launch last week (https://www.bath.ac.uk/announcements/explore-the-bygone-age-of-technology-in-our-education-technology-archive/), we've been quite busy with visitors already.
This has led to some donations coming in - all of which have been gratefully received.
From our colleagues in Engineering (Julian Hooper) a Tandy 102 (TRS-80) - which was used to programme a CNC machine until relatively recently.
From our Civil Engineering Department a scale map measurer, which is double-sided (miles and kilometers).
Also from our Civil Engineering Department, an Epson Powerlite EMP-730 from 2002 - this was the first ever micro portable projector.
From our colleague in Computer Science, Ken Cameron, a trio of interesting things:
1. A Videonics MX-1 video mixer - from 1995 (we think).
2. A Handspring Visor (Palm OS) and optional fold-out keyboard - from 2000.
3. A Nokia 9000 Communicator mobile phone - from 1996.
And finally, from our colleague in the AV Unit, Allan Houston, a Playstation 2 with controllers and 32 games!
These will all be on show or in use in the demo collection shortly!
Responses
Ah the TRS-80. I've wanted to own one of these since I was a little boy looking at them through the window of Tandy.
