We see the majority of glazing now installed on the elevations and commencement on multiple levels for the internal fit out.
The external façade has changed drastically in the period as activity has continued all elevations. We now see most louvres and glazing installed to the main elevations of the building which has enabled the rainscreen to commence. We have started installing the rainscreen backing structure to both west and south gable elevations and this has since progressed around the building. With glazing installed the team have continued behind installing EPDM, pressure plates and caps, this is visible to the north, east and south elevations. Framework is being installed the atrium façade steelwork with glazing anticipated to begin installation to this elevation before the Christmas break. Close up of the elevations has further weatherproofed the building in areas enabling internal fit out to progress.
On the internals of the building the mechanical and electrical installation continues to progress on all levels. Rainwater pipes have now been installed to all areas and the final sections for soil vent pipework are being closed out. Ductwork installation in ongoing to the final wing in the basement area and has also begun at level one with activity in both wings. Containment throughout the basement areas at high level and risers is underway. Air handling units are now loaded out and have started being assembled at basement level. Internally we have seen progression with drylining. We are underway with first fix stud and board to the lecture theatres at level zero. In addition, we have formed the first of the faculty offices at level two. Two of these will be accelerated to provide sample rooms for the university. Lastly drylining is in progress to levels one through to four with a focus on forming WC areas due to coordination of trades in these zones.
At roof level we have continued installing roof finishes to level five with hot melt complete and insulation, stone and paving currently being closed out. At level 6 we are installing the last of the hot melt. Felt application is underway and all materials loaded ahead of final finishes. At level one externally we have since installed the good lifts steelwork and subsequently installed the half flight stairs to the basement auditorium.
