Omniboules - Staff Petanque/Boules Team

Posted in: Sports and Activities

Omniboules is the petanque (a.k.a. boules) team of the University of Bath Staff Association (Omnibus). We are registered in the Bath League de Petanque, and play in the League events held on alternate Tuesdays in Queens Square in the Summer. We started in 2011, winning 3rd place in the Lower division and the trophy shown above . In 2012 we came bottom of Division One, and in 2013 and 2014 we were near the bottom of Division Two, so in 2016 the only way is up!
All Omnibus members, their partners, family and friends are very welcome to join us for matches, and for practices held on campus at lunchtimes, and sometimes on the intervening Tuesdays in Queens Square.  Details of Omniboules can be found at this separate website http://people.bath.ac.uk/mbr20/boules/. Contact Martin Reed (M.B.Reed@bath.ac.uk) for more information.

2016 our Captain is Richard Weston:

As an introduction for those who don't know me, I worked in Mechanical Engineering (Centre of Orthopaedic Biomechanics) for some 32 years before retiring at the end of 2011.
