Bath Research and Development is a partnership between three Primary Care Trusts and the Department for Health, University of Bath (where the consortium is located). The Trusts involved are: Bath and North East Somerset PCT, Swindon PCT and a portion of the new Wiltshire PCT.

The consortium provides a research management and governance service, and provide a drop in support session for researchers with queries regarding regulatory approval. The consortium supports Primary Care research and helps to facilitate the conduct of trials and other well-designed studies within the health sector. It focuses on the promotion of the National Institute for Health Research, now established as part of the Department of Health's 'Best Research for Best Health' strategy.
